Elder Care Companion Programme

The Community Elder Care Programme provides social support to older persons in their homes. it provides older persons with assistance with activities of daily living. The programme offers about 3 hours of companionship for the older individuals and further grants them social stimulation through engagement in activities such as conversations and reading. The companions also provide light duties such as meal preparation and running errands.

The service is offered between 3-5 days demanding on the demand. Approximately, 1000 older persons benefit.

General Objectives

To provide care and support to the ageing and elderly in society to allow them to age in place and reduce the prevalence of the removal of older persons from their homes and placing them in care facilities.
