Granada

The Government of Grenada responds to the requirements of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in reporting through the Ministry of Social Development, Housing and Community Empowerment.
In order to provide a coordinated response, the Government considered appointing a National Focal Point who ensured coordination, monitoring and reporting on population and development issues in a timely manner, which ultimately contributed to the National Strategic Development Plan. This institutional mechanism made it possible to define the body responsible for coordinating the various sectors to prepare the national reports, and to facilitate their timely submission.
In 2016, a proposal was submitted to the Cabinet to appoint the Gender Analyst of the Gender and Family Affairs Division of the Ministry of Social Development, Housing and Community Empowerment as the National Focal Point, responsible for monitoring population and development issues.
In 2018, a national consultation was held with representatives from different government ministries and departments, civil society organizations and a private sector organization for the preparation of the Universal Periodic Report on the implementation of the Montevideo Consensus.

The information on Institutionality comes from the Voluntary National Report submitted by the country in the period 2017-2019.
