Date
The National Plan aims to provide strategic direction to an effective, coordinated national response to the priority NCDs, namely heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and stroke, and associated risk factors. The high NCD burden in Trinidad and Tobago severely affects the quality of life of adults as they grow older, with persons requiring extensive medical care and treatment. This plan aims to reduce the burden of NCDs and improve the quality of life of persons as they mature.
General Objectives
By 2025, reduce the burden of preventable mortality (before the age of 70) due to heart diseases, diabetes, cancer, and stroke by 25%.
