In doing so, the Medical Mission supports residents of rural areas in improving their health and social participation by: starting from the health needs of the residents; focusing on optimal participation in education and prevention; basing on the latest science; guaranteeing the quality of basic medical care and organization; having transportation and communication means and communication systems; job creation, by training residents and employing them as health workers and support staff; combating isolation of the residents by continuing care.
The purpose of the Foundation is: To promote and ensure the physical, mental, social and emotional well-being of the population in the interior of Suriname according to Primary Health Care principles, all this driven by the gospel in word and deed.
