For the 2013-2016 period, the following priority areas have been identified for gender policy, and their corresponding objectives:
-Education and training: Education contributes to the social equality of men and women.
-Work, income and poverty reduction: Guarantee women's effective right to work and income, and prevent discrimination against women on the basis of marriage or maternity.
-Violence: Ensure full protection against, combat and prevent domestic and sexual violence. Prevention of domestic and sexual violence.
-Health: Health care is made more accessible taking into account social and biological differences between the sexes.
-Participation and decision-making: Increased participation of women in decision-making bodies and positions.
The Ministry of Interior coordinates the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the national gender policy and annual gender work plans through the National Bureau of Gender Policy (NBG), and the contribution of all other relevant ministries and non-governmental organizations.
The national gender policy is rights-based and aims to achieve sustainable gender development. The gender perspective will be reflected in the policies of all ministries and will be applied at all levels (national, district, locality, community).
